I want to say from the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!
I had such an overwhelming response to my photos and my post about 'who am I?" through comments on the blog and facebook and instagram. Comments that have seriously made my days and lifted my soul. Hearing validation that I have struggled to give myself for years and here you are, my little cheerleaders. I love how we can all cheer each other on in a society filled with messages to pull others down.

It is so humbling and exciting seeing my little google followers growing, ever so slowly, but growing none-the-less. Thanks.

Onto other news. Last night I got a call from a friend of a friend who's photographer had pulled out just 2 nights before the wedding. As she asked if I could take the photos of the day, a wave of excitement and pure fear washed over me and after explaining my lack of experience (less than 2 weeks since Tim's photography course) I decided to take it on.

This morning I woke up with my stomach tied in knots and decided to drag Regan and Noah off to a burnt out, graffitied old container to take some shots. It was such a great outlet for some stress release. Then we toured the park where I would take the wedding photos the next day, scouting out the best locations and practicing exposure on a massively sunny day.
So now I have 4 new memory sticks and lots of ideas so please wish me luck!

I downloaded Light box today so these are the first images that haven't been just straight out of the camera.

  1. Ellen you are a natural. You use the camera like a lens through your heart. It is wonderful to see your talent developing and getting better. Don't worry. You are a great photographer - don't be scared.
